I seem to be at exactly the same place. I troulbe shoot windows for a
living and have been doing this 17 years. This probelm is going to
force a complete reinstall if I cant fix it soon. You have done all the
right things and seem to know what you are talking about. I just read
one person using Panda AV got over it when they released a fix. I dont
use that. I didnt know my updates were not going in for the longest
time. I am more behind than you. At first it was just the Net Framework
updates that wouldnt go, now it is everything. It fails!!! right away,
it couldnt have downloaded in the time it is taking so the prolbem is
at that level. I turn off the firewall and no go. Windows wont though
even take me manually downloading the updates and trying to execute
them so maybe it is more than the download process is not working. I
acutally got MS interested for a while and got a reply that "this will
likely solve your problems so we will assume it does and close your
case", somehtings like that. But they gave a convuluted way to reply to
keep it going. I did it over and over and over and they dont answer. I
have been Microshafted again. I had a Google hit on a blog that only
has the Net Frame work install problem, exactly as I had it, used logic
exactly as i did and it failed and he hates Windows with a passion. Get
back to me if you watn to work together on this,...
