Re: Win98SE update error

>From what I have read duing the past few days, several people are having the
same problem with the KB905915 update. So far I have tried all the tricks
offered in this forum and elsewhere - even uninstalled all antivirus/
fireewall software - nothing fixes the problem. I finally restored a Ghost
backup of Win98SE I found from 2002 and applied all the Critical Updates one
at a time. Everything worked fine until I installed the Cumulative Security
Update for Internet Exporer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB905915). Now when I triy to
run Windows Update, I get the same message as before:

"ADMINISTRATORS ONLY - To install items from Windows Update, you must be
logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group."

I never have set up an Administrator account on this machine - didn't even
know it was possible. Guess MS has broke something again, and cannot fix it.
In the mean time, I am going to do another Ghost restore and do all the
updates EXCEPT the Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB905915).

If someone knows a fix please let me know. Thanks.
