Try a search?
E.g., you are using the web interface to newsgroups which makes this easy.
Press Alt-7 to set keyboard focus to the Search input box and enter your
error code.
Further, use the Show: dropdown list of filters. In this case nobody
has bothered marking a reply as an "Answered question" but there
are some which have been rated "Helpful". So try using that filter too.
Further, MSFT and MVP responses may contain those keywords;
so even if you couldn't find an answer which had been marked by
someone using the web interface you could use either of those terms
as an additional way of filtering out threads which might not contain
answers.
So, from all those hints (and skipping threads of 1 post which are questions
which have somehow moronically been marked Helpful) you would find
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsupdate&mid=cf20e4e5-f71b-4f9e-a72b-cea80861ef33&sloc=en-us
(Web interface search for
0x8007F0CC
- filtered by Threads with helpful posts
- second thread (first with more than 1 post)
- 4 out of 4 people found this post helpful
)
Etc.
