| Hello all. My homenetwork consists of one Dell server, an Insignia Desktop,
| and an Averatech laptop. The server is running Window Server 2003, the
| desktop is running WinXP Pro, and the laptop is running WinXP Home Edition.
| My question is this. How do I set up my server (which has already been
| configured as a DNS server & a DHCP server) to be a file & print server? I
| have my printer connected to the server. I have a hi-speed network with
| cable modem & a Linsys wireless router. The server is connected via cat5
| ethernet cable. The desktop and laptop are both connected wirelessly. I
| have all IP addresses and the gateway address of the router. The computers
| are not 'seeing' each other. I have implemented a domain network. Would I
| be better off setting up a workgroup peer-to-peer network? I'm in school for
| web design & development as well as network administration. So, it's
| important to me to set up a domain servive on my network.
|
| Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My email is:

|
| Thank you,

The main fact is that you need to learn about News Group posting and posting On Topic.
You posted in a News Group specifically for discussing the Windows Update server and
software processes to install MS Critical and other updates.
This News Group has NOTHING to do with SOHO LANS and networking. Therefore your post is Off
Topic and unwelcome !
