XP2 issues logging on

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

After I installed XP2 and rebooted by computer, it came up with the Welcome
screen like normal and then came up with a screen where I had to click on my
first name. In previous versions of Windows XP, I didn't have this. Anyway,
after I clicked on my first name it said "Loading personal settings" and then
went back to my first name without doing anything.

I also tried Safe Mode and it did the same thing with Administrator as well
as my first name.

Any help is appreciated.
