Re: Security patch updates

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Always install Security updates one at a time and when prompted to reboot do
so. The technology that allows you to install many Security Updates
(Hotfixes) without rebooting is called "chaining" and it is not very well
implememnted. I am not saying it cannot be done all, what I am saying is
that it may not do well. For your situation I wouldn't fihght with it just
reinstall and do the updating a little more "slowly" in the future. One
thing you may want to avoid in the future are any updates from Microsoft
which are drivers for your Hardware. Sorry you have no alternative but to
reinstall. The system will never be stable.
