Maybe. The reason why I say this is because I was able to install IIS 4 in
Windows 98. It did not have all the function of true IIS 4 and it required
a little bit of finding the right dll and installing only that stuff which
would work in that system but I did get it in and it worked just fine. So I
figure there is probably a way to do it in Windows XP Home edition also but
like you may have read earlier, it is not supported. What that means is is
that if it messes up your system and you still have support available on it,
you cannot expect that support to be valid with this workaround. But of
course if you do not still have support available what difference does it
make? It is not going to make the system null and void I can pretty much
guarentee that. It's just that it may not work as well as it would in
Windows XP Professional which is what IIS 5.1 was designed for. But in
answer to your question about IIS 5 or 6 no neither are made for Windows XP
or will work there. Windows XP version of IIS is 5.1.
