Did you go to microsoft and download the Win updated Ver.2 manually, as the
auto update did not work in downloading the update software. This worked for
me on 1 server, the other one I had problem with got the update software but
failed the updates. I needed to do this...
Step 1: Verify the Local Administrator and Service account are added to the
"Impersonate a client after authentication" security policy.
=======================================
1. Click Start.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Point to Administrative Tools.
5. Choose Local Security Policy.
6. Expand Local Policies.
7. Choose User Rights Assignment.
8. Double-click to open the Impersonate a client after authentication policy.
9. On the Local Security Setting tab, add the Service and Administrator to
the list of Users and Groups.
10. Click OK.
11. Restart the system.
Step 2: Please remove the user account experiencing difficulty from the
Guests or Limited user account
==========================================
1. Click Start.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Control Panel.
4. Select Administrative Tools.
5. Choose Computer Management.
6. Expand Local Users and Groups.
7. Select Users.
8. Open the account used to access Windows Update.
9. Click the Member Of tab.
10. Highlight the user account you want to remove and click Remove.
Step 3: Change the DCOM permission by the steps below.
=======================================
1. At a command prompt, type the following command to open Distributed COM
Configuration Properties: "dcomcnfg.exe" (without the quotation marks)
2. Select the Default Security tab.
3. Under Access Permissions click on "Edit Default"
4. Add the Administrators account or your account, set "Access Permission"
to "Allow".
5. Apply the changes and reboot the machine.
After finishing this process, please go to the Microsoft Windows Update
Website to see if you can obtain the update now.
