Sure he can. Why not? I can also recommend looking here
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/upgrading/advisor.mspx for the
upgrade advisor so the person knows whether or not the old computer can be
upgrade, and then look at the "Check the Upgrade Eligibility" link for
further information. If there is a qualifying system AND the computer can
handle Windows XP, why not save some money?
