Hi, my security paranoid ways in the past led to a similiar situation.
If your settings are to protective, the site will not function for you.
It took me a while to realize that my prompt for scripts pop-up
window was appearing BEHIND the page that seemed to still be
loading and I never saw it - so I was the cause of the freezing by
simply not clicking the yes. You can be TOO careful.
Hope your problem is that easy.
