The answer is no. I am not an MVP and never will be one but just download
the WGA and start using your computer instead of configuring it.

Personally, I am looking into Linux as, like you, I don't think that paying
customers should have to prove they bought something. PA and WGA only affect
paying customers. They say they lose money and that's why they're doing it.
My take is that they are spending more money on phone reps for activation
than they lose through piracy and the ironic thing is that IT HAS DONE
NOTHING WHATSOVER TO STOP PIRACY, ONLY INCONVENINECED WHAT USED TO BE LOYAL
CUSTOMERS.
