Automatic updates crash

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

This morning wuauclt.exe was crashing many times until I stopped the
service.

The event viewer gives me this information:
Application Failure wuauclt.exe 5.8.0.2469 in wuaueng.dll 5.8.0.2469 offset

Naturally, when I wanted to run MSBA 2.0.5029.2 it wasn't able to and
returned
