Invalid H/W detection

Windows Update erroneously believes that my laptop requires a network driver
update for Infeon ADMtek AN983 10/100Mbps PCI Ethernet Adapter. The laptop
has no such component (certainly not by that name). The network adapter that
it has is an Accton EN2242 Series MiniPCI Fast Ethernet Adapter.
Installing this is unlikely to be good for my machine and just possibly
could be disastrous. Yet there appears to be no way for me to get Windows
Update to forget about this particular item.
THIS IS BAD.
