Here is the reply I got from MS. It worked.

1. Go to Windows Update site
(http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp ) directly.
2. Click "Custom Install" to scan your system (Not Express Install) 3. After
finishing, please click "Select optional hardware updates" in the left pane.
4. Choose the driver update failed to be installed on the right pane and
check the box "Hide this update"
5. Restart the computer and this update should not be offered again.
