Update process hangs

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi all,

I have one client where the update checking hangs at "Checking for the
latest version of the Windows Update software...". I find only one KB that
references ZoneAlarm which is not installed.

v5.microsoft.com has been added to the trusted sites.

Does anybody know what is going on?
