Re: XP SP2 Problems

In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.

Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll
Press Enter or click OK

How to troubleshoot problems accessing secure Web pages with IE6 SP2
After you upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) in Microsoft Windows XP SP2, some SSL-secured (128-Bit) Web pages and Web sites may not work correctly. Frequently, this behavior is caused by security changes in Windows XP SP2.

I bought this machine from another party (second hand) and set it to
receive automatic updates. When SP2 installed on my machine, it took
away my ability to access secured pages. I have tried uninstalling
and it says it can't find the file. I've contacted the maker of my
system and they sent me some steps to take to get it removed. It
does not work, still shows up in my programs list, and am still
unable to access any secured pages. I did not get a XP installation
disk because it came pre-loaded. I do have a restore disk but that
will wipe out all of my files. Whoa is me, I don't know what to do.
