Did you run the upgrade advisor check? You may have graphic
drivers that are not XP compatible or even non-supported
hardware.
Was the system running well when you began the upgrade (not
update) to XP? Did you turn off or uninstall any anti-virus
and security software before the upgrade?
If you bought a retail XP Upgrade you do have free
installation support.
