Re: Windows update freezes computer

Checked these files: callcont.dll, Mst120.dll and nmcom.dll and each are
shown as version 5.1.2600.133.

Am unclear about how to do this: "If XP SP1 was installed, check that file
list
> vs. what's on the system. If XP, never updated with any Service Packs,
> compare with those files."

My computer's XP SP2 version is listed as: v. 5.1 (Build
2600.xpclient.010817-1148)

I do have my original XP cd but do not have an SP2 cd.

By the way, in the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS are the following:
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 823559
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 828741
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 833987
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 834707
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 835732
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 841356
Windows XP Hotfix - KB 842773

This is getting pretty much above my head but will try to stay with you. ;-)
