KB893066 was a bit of a disaster for me, in that when I was at home
connecting to the internet via W98 ICS, it stopped my XP SP2 Notebook from
loading some web sites, while others worked fine. At work, connecting via my
corporate network, the exact same computer with the security patch installed
worked perfectly!
Microsoft recommended a registry hack to change the MTU to 576, after which
my computer works fine both at work and at home. I do hope a proper fix is
released soon, but in the meantime, I am happy leaving the patch installed.
