When you rename the SoftwareDistribution folder, a new SoftwareDistribution
folder is created.........that is "normal". Unfortunately, as far as I know,
that is the only "fix" that has worked for that particular error message. If
I do happen upon another "fix" for that error, I will definitely post it for
you.
Have you received a response to your support request SRZ050402001221? If so,
I'd be interested in knowing the troubleshooting steps that MS recommended.
