April 13 Critical Updates for Windows 2000 Server - corrupted

I just tried to apply the latest critical updates to my Windows 2000 Adv
Server and the updates were saved temporarily on my USB drive. When Windows
2000 boots to install the updates, an INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error occurs
since the USB driver to access the updates has not been loaded (internal USB
not on motherboard). How to I correct the update to NOT put the temporary
files on my USB drive and to now remove the status that an update is needed
so I can boot.
