Re: Please help with uninstalling Windows XP Service Pack 2

Jeff

I am well aware that people have problems, but many can be headed off.. some
of the better software authors have supplied patches where they could, and
hardware producers have followed suit.. SP2 wasn't thrust on the industry as
a whole.. it was in beta test format for a long time.. we all knew it was
coming, and the improved security that it provides is very welcome..

SP2 is a major update and is not going away.. there is a tendency among some
to listen to the bad hype re. SP2, and uninstall immediately instead of
working through each problem.. there is also a definite 'to do' list that
must be followed.. but with all respect, any software install will go better
if done on a machine that is properly maintained..

In forums and newsgroups, we only get to see the people with problems.. I
know of more than a few who accepted the initial update from WU, and they
have no problems at all.. for most of them, they were not even aware that
there might be..
