When and if SP-3 is released will be shown on this page:

Do not expect SP-3 for close to 2 years.
There are problems reported with SP-2.
There were problems reported with SP-1
There will be problems reported with SP-3 if it comes out.
If you are going to wait for a perfect Service Pack, you will wait
forever.
Most problems installing any Service Pack are avoided by ensuring the
computer is ready:
