SP2 - missing MS functions

    I loaded SP2, rebooted and lost funtionality of the SEARCH tool under the
    start menu, as well as the network status icon in the taskbar. I am on
    dial-up and view to see my connection speed/status. Please help if you have
    had these same issues. I have since restored back pre-SP2, but would like to
    give it another go.
