Windows Update Not Working

Operating system Windows XP with service pack 2. Critical update for
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack
2 (KB834707) failed to download properly.

This one of two critical updates did not work properly. The other one did,
so I believe that the system is connecting properly to the update site. I
have retried several times over a week and the results are the same. The log
for the latest retry follows:
