have two computers that I was trying to apply the lastest patches and
updates on. One was fresh out of the box. After I apllied all the latest
updates and restarted each computer, now they both get a pop up box saying
"one of the files containing the system's registry data had to be recovered
by a log or alternate copy. The Recovery was successful". One of the
computers had been in use for along time and never had any problems until I
installed the last two updates that were available on windows update. (kb
841533, and Kb840987). The second computer ,as I said, was fresh out of the
box, and had to have all the udpates applied...which I did over a period of
days. No errors appeared until yesterday when I udpated the other computer.
.It had several more updates other than the ones mentioned above. I tried
uninstalling the updates above. The error went away ..so I thought. Then
it came back again after a few re-boots. I looked all across the web and
found a few references to this "popup box" , but no one seems to have a
definitive answer to what reall is causing it. I havent found any mentioned
to it being associated with a windows update issue, but that is the commone
link between these two computers. Has any one else out there come across
this? thanks in advance.
