error at startup

At startup, I get a small black screen named "16-Bit
Dos". Then a error message pops up as follows:

C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\updmgr\updmgr.exe
The NTVDM has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS: 054b IP:fc33 OP:f0 8a 00 00 00
Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

This comes up now at every startup. What should I do to
fix that?
