There defn for the error you received.: NTE_PROV_TYPE_NOT_DEF.

Try the following steps to clean out Windows Update and try again:

1. Stop the Automatic Update service

2. Rename c:\windows\system32\catroot2

3. Rename c:\windows\softwaredistribution folder 4. Restart the Automatic
Update Service 5. Re-Download and reinstall
