IBM Netvista. SP 2 was automatically downloaded and I chose to install it.
Took 20 + minutes. The end results was that it screwed up the CD-RW. When
ever I tried to send a file to it there was no place in the "send" for the
CD-RW, it had been replaced with "Blue tooth". When I moved a file to the
CD-RW, it resulted in an error message to be sent to MSN. I checked the
Add/remove file and the "hotfiles" were no longer listed. They were replaced
by SP @ Package. I did a restore and the system worked "good". I checked the
Add/Remove file. The "hotfixes" had been returned. The SP2 was still there.
This morning a new notice appeared saying that there were "updates", did I
want to install them. It was a mistake!! It reinstalled the SP2 again with
the same problems. I made another restore.
My question is why does it screw up the CD-RW ability to be properly used
and also how do I manage to get "new" updates, with out the whole SP2 being
reinstalled?
Thank You. Vernon
