Wrong.
The solution is as follows (I found it on google):
"Fix for error code 8007F0CC while downloading SP2.
This error code seems to be due to a modified boot.ini
file. The most common reason for modifying the boot.ini
is to overlay a new boot screen during windows boot.
The generic, unmodified line under the [operating
systems] section of the boot.ini file should look as
follows.
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
Some programs that change the boot screen add a variable
to the end of this line such as /Kernel='some-file-
name'.exe
Remove this variable, reboot, and try the SP2 install
again.
This worked on many of my client machines.
