Not sure if this will help you, but one of the errors you list in your log is
0x800B0100.. perhaps this fix may work for you .. This error, at least in
some cases, is caused by Norton Internet Security intefering with windows
update. Completely disable the entire Norton Internet Security suite and see
if it helps. Note that just disabling the firewall portion of Norton proved
to be insufficient, you need to disable the entire program. It appears that
there are other issues with Windows update banging heads with Norton, so
disabling it to do the update is a good idea. In one case, no downloads of
any sort were possible and windows update was not working at all after SP2,
until Norton Internet Security was disabled.
