Thank you. I have been following these Win update issues for days because I
have been having EXACTLY the same problem you described. No error messages.
It just sits there forever saying it is checking your software for updates.
I'll try what you suggested tomorrow (not home tonight) and see if it works.
None of the other "experts" indicated that using you of the fixes for the
problems giving error messages really would fix the 'hanging' problem. You
did. Thanks.
