I ran into this error on a compaq Evo N1020v notebook. It was generated
because the updater could not read the header in the log file:
C:\WINDOWS\security\edb00001.log.

On my machine, there were 2 log files in this folder: edb00001.log and
edb00002.log.

I made a backup of edb00001.log and renamed edb00002.log to edb00001.log.
The update then worked without any problems.
