I receive this error when attempting to download XP SP2 both by manual updates and I see from the log that an automatic update also
failed with the same error.

Error Code: 80070005

Here is the extract from the log file. I'm using XP Home on ADSL and an administrator account. All updates prior to XP SP2 installed
no problem. computer has 193Mb free on C: (Windows 98 partition) and 2.12Gb free on D: (Windows XP).

The relevant seems to be
DM: SusMakeDirectoryW failed with 0x80070005.

I have looked here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;836926
But it doesn't seem to be any of those issues.
