Whenever I go to Windows Update, it stops at
"Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this
time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security
warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click
Install or Yes to install the software."
The box came up once. I let it download, and it is since in my Downloaded
Program Files. I went to the Dl'd Prog Files, right clicked and updated it.
It's v. 5. All the ActiveX scripts are set to enable in IE options. What
should I do to get my Updates back?!? Would clearing all my cookies, temp net
file...etc, help this matter?
And by the way, after the page loads, in about a second, I hear two clicks,
the sounds like when you click on a link and it opens a new page. Could that
be WU trying to get me something? And is it possible that the Windows Update
site is getting to much traffic and is overdeluged with people?
