I am trying to update my machines in my computer lab. All
of the machines have 512 K ram. Out of the 7 machines I
have tried only three have been successful. All of the
machines were purchased at the same time and have the same
serial number except for the last digit.

The ones that have failed seem to work fine until it is in
the middle of the windows xp install and I get an I/O
error.

Does that mean the problem is in the CD Rom?
I find this hard to believe since it has read the CD
accurately for at least 30 minutes before the error
appears.
