XP Pro Service Pack 1 Setup Error

I receive the following error message while trying to run the sp1a update "Service Pack 1 Setup Error - The file c:\program files\mesenger\type.wav is open or in use by another application. Close all other applications and click Retry." This happens using the download or CD. Any ideas???
