Assume that all updates need to be reinstalled . If you reinstalled
over the top of Win 98 and backed up the registry then the updates
are still showing as being installed in the registry. Unless you
want to manually remove the updates from there you will have to
reinstall all of them to err on the side of caution.

Why not order the Security CD from MS. It's free and will speed up
the updating process :

For updates issued after October, 2003 , use Method 2 to obtain them
from the Windows Update site :
