Winupdate.exe error

I have a little problem here.. Winupdate.exe wants to update xp for me, and that's ok, but every time it tries, it makes an error.. This is starting all over again and again, and it wont stop! I have tried to download all updates manully from Microsoft's homepage, but winupdate.exe still wants to update my system..
What to do?
