Right mouse click gets lost

I recently installed the following updates listed below via Xp's Automatic update and now the right click button of my mouse results in an hour glass that never resolves itself. This happens only when on the desk top or in a folder. My right click button works fine when used in different software. I have also noticed that since the updates I cannot empty my recycle bin. Every time I try an hour glass appears that never resolves.
Please help
