1. Microsoft never released a "Corporate Edition" of Windows XP Pro. You are
apparently attempting to install a pirated and illegal version of XP Pro.
2. One cannot upgrade XP Home w/SP1 to XP Pro using a XP Pro CD without SP1.

Solutions:

1. Purchase a "retail upgrade version" of XP Pro w/SP1 integrated.
2. To return to XP Home, a "clean install" is required.

| Because of Windows XP Home does not support EFS, so I want to update it to the Corporate Edition. However,
the update process is with many hitch that I can't expected. My XP Home Edition was installed with SP1 and
some least updates from Microsoft. I got a XP Corporate CD 2001 version without any service packs and want to
update the Home Edition. I had run the system compatible test and it returns no problem. Then I start upgrae
it. After some files was copied to the harddisk and the system restarted with the XP profressional logo, it
start installation. When this process begin, a Blue Screen with error NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOACTION come up and
hangs the update progress. There was no new hardware installed. Then restart again, same result come out and
hangs again. I tried to enter to the safe mode to continue. However, setup does not allow me continue setup
with safe mode. The only one action after enter safe mode can do is restart to normal mode. Then after enter
to the normal mode, blue screen appear when update tries to start. Next, I disabled the L1 cache in BIOS. The
setup progress become slow and blue scrren casue from "framebuf.dll" was displayed. I move this file form the
System directory to the other one and reboot. Because the L1/L2 cache was disabled. It requires 15 minutes to
enter to the setup. Setup starts this time. However, it takes 10 or more origional time to do this. The
estimated finish time 39 minutes left does not change after 2 hours. After 10 hours, the estimated finish time
left changes to 24 minutes. Unfortunately, it hangs. Setup can't continue, a hard reset was needed. After the
setup can't resumed. It start from the begin "estimated finish time 39 minutes left". Setup repeat the long
installation process again. 12 hours was wasted without any installation. I enabled the L1 cache and try
again. This time, I boot from the CD to install. Setup erase all the file from hard disk and copied these
files again with long time. after copied again, it start setup with the same blue screen error
"NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOACTION". It seem that it is a constant infine dead loop every time when setup starts.
| This is a much worse case that I can't get back to my XP Home Edition. Anyone can help me?
