Chicago (IL) - According to an article of German online
magazine heise online, the recently published Microsoft
patch 835732 can cause annoying problems: Readers of the
magazine reported issues as severe as PCs failing to
boot.

You might want to think twice about installing the 835732
patch, which was described in Microsoft's security
bulletin MS04-011. Raders of heise online complained
about 100 percent CPU usage after installating the patch
and rebooting the PC as well as complete failures to
reboot Windows NT and Windows 2000 systems. SecurityFocus
lists similar information.

Microsoft has not yet responded to the issues reported. A
solution currently is only to deinstall the patch, which
will leave your PC wide open with 14 security holes.
Users at Tek-Tips have listed a simple guide how to
remove the patch.
