I have the sasser virus and I downloaded a program from my friend's computer (transferred to mine via floppy), the stinger at vil.nai.com/vil/stinger. I used it and it deleted 22 files but now after restarting my computer I am still having the exact same symptoms. I can't update through windowsupdate because it says that I either clicked "No" to running a program or that my ActiveX settings were sit too high. However, my ActiveX settings are just how they're supposed to be and no box came up for me to click no to. I can't update any virus software or anything. I'm so sick of this stupid virus!!! Thanks.
