This can also be caused by a program running on your machine. For example
popup blocker, Cookie Pal, etc.
Try a clean boot.
Steps for Performing a Clean Boot:
1. Click Start, and click Run.
2. In the Run dialogue box, type msconfig and click OK.
3. Put a dot in the radio button next to Selective Startup. Click Ok.
4. Remove the check-marks from all items under it.
