No critical updates available

I have not downloaded any critical updates since I installed my Windows XP Pro. However, when ever I go to Windows update, I always get the messgae no critical updates available (while I was able to update that of "Windows XP" and "Drivers" sections.). I have read that Microsoft has released critical updates recenly and this contradicts with the message i get in windows update. Please advise.
