If your corporation allows you to gain access to the network drive (H:), follow the hints that I will give to you. Please follow this step because many of my customers who didn't follow the steps exactly often forced to replace the hardware.

The first thing to do is to update drivers.

Note: This only applies to the drives with drivers, if you are unsure how to do this, visit the manufacturer's website. If your computer cannot connect to the Internet because of a defect hardware, use a computer that can connect.

This should work, but if this problems still arise, try restoring the Windows Me/XP computers to the point prior to the problem.

Note: We cannot guarantee that we can fix your computer if there is no restore point prior to the problem.

If the problems still arise, or to the computers not running in Windows Me/XP, the best option was to remove the updated files and contact the manufacturer to obtain driver updates. Only then you can update again all of your computers.

Hope to solve your problems.

I work at a corporation with 110+ computers. Today, all of them received the
latest batch of updates (the ones you are all complaining about). We have a
mapped drive, mapped as H. It is a network shared drive, mapped by
\\server\%username%$, its hidden, and the people with the username are the
only ones allowed to get in. (Each have a small private piece of the pie so
to speak).

The mapping for H died. You can remap, but when you restart, it goes away,
even when you check the "reconnect on next login" box. The strangest part is
that when you map it as any other letter (we tested i-z), it works
flawlessly. We have another shared mapped drive that we map as W, its a
public folder for all employees to use, and that was unharmed.

Does anyone have a clue why this happened? Maybe there is a fix without
uninstalling the problematic updates? Thanks

Andrew
