Though I can understand how you feel, there are many others who are happy
with their system running WinXP with all the updates
Surely you don't expect users to post
"My system is running prefectly"
do you?
cheer up :-)

The ways I have stayed updated is to set Auto
> Update (in the backgraound) to check for new programs and then notifyme if
I want to download and Install new updates or goto the Upgrade center and
download the latest administrator upgrade kit for upgrading multiple
computers and upgrading manually. It seems to keep me upgaded for the time
being but I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't find a soulution to allow
a customer do use the upgrade page when we are ready to use it and contact
the automatic downlosd page. Don't bother trying a different browser, it
won't work. All it will give you is a messeage to download the laters IE
version and it still won't work.

want to buy a new version that will fix !!!ALL THE BUGS!!! we won't hear
anything. When the new system arrives and we pay for it to rid us of the old
bugs there will be a whole new set in the system. I've Run Windows since
version 2.0 back when GEM, and Desktop were thier competitors and
> it's been the same cycle since Windows 2.0, Win286, Win386, Win3.0,
Win3.1, Win3.11, Win95 at least two builds, Win98

multiple service packs. Win 98SE, Win Millinium, WinNT5.0 (aka Win 2000) and
finally WinNT5.1 (aka WinXP). Then there are other obscure versions and all
the Server Versions. When would they have time to help thier customers
without the outrageouse Hourly service chargers. They need to concentrate on
the next version of buggy Operating Systems. Theres no money in Correcting
the old products at no charge. But for one word in there favor they do try.
Thats why I can't understand why the won't fix there Download Upgrade system
so we can get the updates. Any mistakes in the name or order of the before
mentioned versions is due to the last fifteen years of seeing them come and
go. How has this company that has developed an operating system
> that since the fall off IBM and IBMDOS ( originally leased from microsoft
for the original IBM PC) come to be such a monopoly in the software feild.
Go to any average store and see if you can find anything for the 80x86
intell processors
> (including Pentiums), Cyrix or Athalon CPU in software games and
applications that are not Windows compatible. Apple
> and Unix familiy Variations are all that is left and except for apple no
other software can any longer be found in most retaile stores right down to
Dos compatibility. Sorry About being so long winded but comming to this site
and seeing so many people begging for help just to get Windows Update to
work not to mention my own pet peave about the 30 day marriage of software
to hardware in XP when we will have no advanced notice if a change in CPU or
a different motherboard will set XP into a stubborn non operational mode
until we can again get throught to Microsoft so they may judge if they will
re-acticate our system.
