page, but some, or even most Gifs and Jpegs will no longer save as anything
else other than bitmaps with "untitled" as the file name, even images on
freeware sites with saving instructions etc. I do remember this being a
problem very occasionally when I was using Windows 98, and my laptop, but
assumed the images had been saved as bitmaps. Now the problem is with the
majority of images, to the extent that I cannot save any animated gifs at
all. I am able to resolve this problem for non-animated gifs by copying and
pasting into Photoshop. But this is not possible with animated gifs. Does
anyone else have this problem, and if so have they found out how to solve
it? I know I am not alone as a few friends have been having a similar
problem but so far have not found out why.

Usually this type error will correct itself when you empty out temporary
internet files and reboot.
