MS03-013: Buffer Overrun in Windows Kernel Message Handling Could Lead
to Elevated Privileges
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811493
First, check to see if 811493 is listed in Add/Remove Progams in the
Control Panel. Next, compare the files of the patch with those on your
system ... if BOTH indicate the patch is installed, check the registry
key that is on the above page.
If it is not listed in Add/Remove download a fresh copy. If it IS, but
the files do NOT match, uninstall it from Add/Remove first and then
download a fresh copy.
You can download the patch from the above link and save it to your Hard
Drive for later installation with Internet Explorer closed, the
Temporary Internet Files cleared, and your antivirus program temporarily
disabled for the patches installation. Reenable your AV after
installation is completed and any required rebooting.
