Windows update service pack4

I started this process this morning around 9 am and it is
still "in Progress"; is this really updating or am I just
sitting here wasting my day - they did call it "Express
update service pack 4 for Windows 2000 pro. Granted, I do
have a dial up connection to the net, but 7 hrs. so far
and still not complete is hardly "express". Any advice?
